PREMIO ANIMARIO 2021 AL MEJOR CORTOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL

ANIMARIO 2021, IV Festival Internacional de Animación Contemporánea de Madrid, abre la convocatoria del Premio al Mejor Cortometraje Animado.

Con una dotación de 5.000 euros, el Premio ANIMARIO al Mejor Cortometraje Animado invita a creadores del ámbito de la animación de todo el mundo a presentar cortometrajes desarrollados con cualquier tipo de técnica animada de hasta 30 minutos de duración.

Con esta convocatoria ANIMARIO espera recibir películas cortas de la mejor animación mundial que se exhibirán dentro de la Sección Oficial de Cortometrajes, durante los días del festival. Esta Sección se une a otras proyecciones y actividades que mostrarán y celebrarán en Madrid la más destacada animación contemporánea mundial.

Organizado por Matadero Madrid y Cineteca Madrid, y con el patrocinio del centro comercial Plaza Río 2, la cuarta edición de ANIMARIO tendrá lugar del del 10 al 14 de noviembre de 2021 en su versión presencial y del 15 al 21 de noviembre en su versión online

Comisariado por Carolina López, el Festival ANIMARIO 2021 supone la gran celebración del arte de la animación en Madrid, una línea abierta por Matadero y Cineteca que tendrá una continuidad a lo largo de todo el año.​

Matadero Madrid and Cineteca Madrid are organising ANIMARIO 2021. 4th Madrid International Festival of Contemporary Animation, a festival dedicated to animated cinema in its contemporary expressions that does not however neglect the history of this technique. The 4th edition of ANIMARIO will take place from 10 to 14 November 2021 in its face-to-face version, and from 15 to 21 November 2021 in its online version.

As part of its commitment to the creation and promotion of new languages and expressions of contemporary creation, ANIMARIO has created an International Short Film Competition, open to all animation films, of whatsoever nationality, up to 30 minutes and that creatively work any form of animation.

The films will be eligible for the following awards:
· Award to the best short film, endowed with €5,000 and a diploma.
· Jury Special Mention endowed with a diploma.

Matadero Madrid is a space for cultural creation and production that welcomes all forms of contemporary artistic research and expression. Created in 2006 by Madrid City Council and located in a space of outstanding heritage and architectural value – the former slaughterhouse and cattle market of Legazpi –, Matadero Madrid encourages the convergence of different artistic languages in the quest for exchange and "contamination" between creators, to facilitate interdisciplinary practices.

Cineteca Madrid is a space that is devoted to the projection, reflection and production of cinema in its artistic forms, designated by Madrid City Council to be the driving force behind the design and implementation of a new municipal policy in support of cinema and audiovisual creators.

Curated by Carolina López, the 2021 ANIMARIO Festival represents the great celebration of the art of animation in Madrid, a work line opened by Matadero and Cineteca that will have continuity throughout the year.
