PREMIO ANIMARIO 2022 AL MEJOR CORTOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL

El Festival Internacional de Animación Contemporánea de Madrid, ANIMARIO, que celebrará su quinta edición del 20 al 23 de octubre de 2022, apoya a los creadores del sector del cine animado con las convocatorias del Premio ANIMARIO al Mejor Cortometraje Animado.

ANIMARIO, organizado por Matadero Madrid y Cineteca Madrid, centros culturales pertenecientes al Área de Cultura, Turismo y Deportes del Ayuntamiento de Madrid, con el apoyo del centro comercial Plaza Río 2, situado a escasos metros de Matadero y a orillas del río Manzanares, reunirá de nuevo la mejor animación contemporánea en Madrid con una amplia programación compuesta por proyecciones de largometrajes y cortometrajes, conferencias, clases magistrales y actividades de animación expandida.

El IV Premio Animario al Mejor Cortometraje Animado tiene una dotación de 5.000 € y está abierto a la participación de trabajos de todo el mundo de hasta 30 minutos de duración, creados en cualquier tipo de técnica animada. La convocatoria del premio está abierta hasta el 10 de julio de 2022 en las webs de Cineteca Madrid y Matadero Madrid, y espera recibir películas cortas de la mejor animación mundial para ser exhibidas dentro de la Sección Oficial de Cortometrajes del Festival.

En la pasada edición del Festival el Premio ANIMARIO al Mejor Cortometraje Internacional fue otorgado a Bestia, del chileno Hugo Covarrubias (en la foto superior), que posteriormente fue nominado para los premios Óscar en la categoría de Mejor cortometraje animado.

Sobre el festival ANIMARIO

El Festival Internacional de Animación Contemporánea de Madrid ANIMARIO nació en 2018 con el objetivo de traer a Madrid el trabajo de aquellos artistas y narradores que utilizan la animación como vehículo de expresión e instrumento de creación. Con Carolina López, directora de Animac, como comisaria, ANIMARIO presenta una selección de los títulos más destacados de la animación nacional e internacional en sus diferentes géneros, formatos y lenguajes: del stop motion a la realidad virtual, del documental animado a las ficciones especulativas más experimentales.

La quinta edición de ANIMARIO se celebrará del 20 al 23 de octubre de 2022 en Cineteca Madrid, sede principal, y diferentes espacios de Matadero Madrid y el centro comercial Plaza Río 2. El festival ofrecerá una intensa programación de proyecciones, coloquios, encuentros y talleres, entre otras muchas actividades.

The International Festival of Contemporary Animation of Madrid, ANIMARIO, which will celebrate its fifth edition from October 20 to 23, 2022, supports the creators of the animated film sector with the ANIMARIO Award for Best Animated Short Film.

ANIMARIO, organized by Matadero Madrid and Cineteca Madrid, cultural centers belonging to the Area of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Madrid City Council, with the support of the Plaza Río 2 shopping center, located a few meters from Matadero and on the banks of the Manzanares River, will once again bring together the best contemporary animation in Madrid with an extensive program consisting of feature and short film screenings, conferences, master classes and expanded animation activities.

The IV Animario Award for Best Animated Short Film has a prize of 5,000 € and is open to works from all over the world up to 30 minutes long, created in any kind of animated technique. The call for entries is open until July 10, 2022 on the websites of Cineteca Madrid and Matadero Madrid, and hopes to receive short films of the best animation in the world to be screened in the Official Short Film Section of the Festival.

In the last edition of the Festival, the ANIMARIO Award for Best International Short Film went to Bestia, by Chilean Hugo Covarrubias (pictured above), which was subsequently nominated for the Oscars in the Best Animated Short Film category.

About the ANIMARIO festival

The International Festival of Contemporary Animation of Madrid ANIMARIO was born in 2018 with the aim of bringing to Madrid the work of those artists and storytellers who use animation as a vehicle of expression and instrument of creation. With Carolina López, director of Animac, as curator, ANIMARIO presents a selection of the most outstanding titles of national and international animation in its different genres, formats and languages: from stop motion to virtual reality, from animated documentary to the most experimental speculative fictions.

The fifth edition of ANIMARIO will be held from October 20 to 23, 2022 at Cineteca Madrid, the main venue, and different spaces in Matadero Madrid and the Plaza Río 2 shopping center. The festival will offer an intense program of screenings, talks, meetings and workshops, among many other activities.
